help a girl out...

It's my least favorite part of Christmas and it's a dilemma I've had for years. It's not the wrapping or the baking or even the shopping. It's not writing Christmas cards (I don't) or gaining those nasty holiday pounds (I just do).

I hate making my wish list.

There. I said it. I feel better just admitting it.

The last time I remember really knowing what I wanted for Christmas was the year I asked for a real microphone, complete with mike stand. I think I was 9.

It's not that I'm Grinchy. I really love Christmas. And believe me, it's not that I don't want anything. I really do.

I just can't figure out what it is that I do want. I think I might need therapy.

Here's my list so far:
socks
clothes
Coldplay's Viva la Vida
a shower radio

Sigh. Not exactly your super exciting Christmas list.

Here's where you come in. I need to know what you think I should want for Christmas. Maybe it's something that's on your list. Or was last year. Maybe it's a book that you've read, or a kitchen gadget that has changed your life, or a piece of clothing that is a must-have. Whatever it may be, leave a comment and help a girl out!

I was trying to think of a prize to give to the winner, and I'm coming up short there too. So, if you are the lifeline that leads me to my favorite Christmas gift this year, here's what I'll do. I promise to dedicate an entire post to you--singing your praises and letting the world know why I love you.

So, get a commenting...

p.s. To be fair, I should let you all know, that I already have an early Christmas present that I absolutely loooooove. Check out these beauties from Pottery Barn:

I asked for a Flip Video last year, and I still love it. Small and easy to carry around like a camera, but I can catch all the great video of my kids....and it is super easy to download to my computer!

INGENIUS post, Kaley!!
I was thinking if I were in your shoes, I'd enjoy gift cards. Since you like to shop and could use sale coupons with your gift card you could wait for the best deals.
PLUS do you have an iPod? you can buy them way less expensively if you buy them "refurbished" (ask Brian, that's how he bought mine). Then, of course, you'd need iTunes gift cards...

ps i REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hope i win. : )

My mom got me a pizzelle iron this year! Yay for christmas cookies!!! It's so fun to make them (plus they freeze well so you can make them ahead of time!)

Love the stockings!!! (actually I'm a bit jealous!)
Not many people love autobiographies and biographies like I do but if you do I suggest - Tramp for the Lord by Corrie Ten Boom, The Autobiography of George Mueller or No COmpromise - the Life story of Keith Green. All very challenging books.
The must have kitchen thingy is a Kitchen Aid stand mixer - got mine for $150 (normally $300) from Lowes when they ran a special on special order. I love using it for cookies and bread!
Hey, now that I'm thinking about it - you already have the best Christmas gift - that little Lincoln and that big Griffin!

ok, well is it fair if I leave a couple of ideas? I guess since I am the one posting, it doesn't matter!!! Ok, so we have the Keurig single cup coffee maker on our list (you can find it at Bed, Bath & Beyond, where you can use a 20% off) and it comes with single coffee pods, which come in a wide variety of flavors, including a hot chocalate! Yummy! An additional accessory is the pod holder which is fun too...it's like a coffee shop right in your kitchen! My other suggestion... A Thousand Spendid Suns and Kite Runner, wait.... I have both, so borrow from me and go for the coffee pot! (The flip video is a great idea too!!!)

I'm jealous of your stockings, because I order a similar one for Emma! I just don't have mine yet! And as for the presents, I have the same dilemma, sorry I'm no help.

Great post, Kaley! I think you should ask for The Dark Knight on DVD.
